The 90° Short Elbow CVS fitting is a common connector used to install wall valves. All standard ducted vacuum installations use a Short Elbow (also called a "short ell" or "short ninety") to connect the tube to an inlet valve mounting bracket. The tight turn radius is required to fit within the standard 4" wall cavity and also prevents long debris (think a pencil or drinking straw) from traveling into the tube system and getting stuck where it can not be reached. Using a 90° Short Elbow at the valve traps long debris where it can easily be removed after unplugging the hose. The 90° short elbow should never be used in other areas of the tube system. The 90° short elbow can be used in the standard connection for 4" stud walls. For use in 3" stud wall use the extra short elbow.
